You are welcome Beth.

The frame I have is a '63 with the spot-welded tail light bracket and the motor is '64 with an early '62-63 tank - chrome strip covering the center seam, very wide, with unique chrome panels and ONE, cracked Dream 250 plastic badge. I would LOVE to find pressed steel bars for this but GOOD LUCK, I know. Instead, I plan to put on low rise tubular bars. I think they look better than the standard Dream touring bars.

Bbraun, what's the engine number / frame number of your bike?
I have a very early CA72 - 1961 model - and would be curious to compare certain components....

Hi Rob; the bike is disassembled. Motor has a '64 number on it and the frame has a '63 serial number. The tank is the one from around '63 with the very wide side panels and the chrome strip down the middle of the top (I haven't processed pix of that yet).
What did you want to compare? If yours is a very early model tank; it might have the one with no rubber knee panels on it. I don't have pix of the frame yet.
As you know, many of these bikes are now "mix 'n match" with components from diferent years combined.
I would register this bike as a '63 since that's what the frame serial number indicates that is what it is and our DMV in CT, USA registers vehicles by the frame number. Personally, it doesn't matter to me if the other stuff on it matches the year.

Nice bike with the red seat and grips! That's the tank i have, with the center chrome strip. The bottom tank with no top seam is an early tank too; I also have one of those I plan to put on my 305 as the domestic solo seat fits better with that tank.

Hi Guys,
Big Scooter, yes, my bike looks like that - I have frame number CA72-10042 & Eng CA72E-110043. One of only a small number (300 or so?) of CA72's sold in 1961.
The chrome tank-seam trim was only fitted to the C72 / CA72 - the 305 versions had a slightly different tank & did not have the trim.
