electric starter issue
I have a problem with my starter and before I tear into the motor I thought I would ask for your advice.
Here is the issue on my 305. when power is put to the starter it spins and I can see the chain moving, but the motor is not turning over. How is the starter sprocket connect to the motor?
What could be the problem?

Sounds like your starter clutch is slipping. Take off the rotor and the starter clutch is located at the back of the rotor. There are three rollers / springs in there which are still readily available.
