Shriners: Honda Dream CA77

Post by Michael Stoic » Sat May 08, 2004 6:07 pm

Over the years, I've received emails from several people who mentioned a CA77 Dream "Shriners" bike. I asked one person to describe it. Here is what they said:

"Well, I was actually looking at this bike, and the guy said that it was a Shriners bike. They would ride around with these red hats with a black tassle on the top (like a fez hat) with the Shriners Symbol on it and ride around on white little bikes (Which I never knew were Honda's) for parades. But this particular bike has a siren, one red light (like a cops light) on the back of the bike and two red lights on either side of the front headlamp. It also has two hardcases, one on each sides.

I had been looking at all types of Honda Dreams, but I wasn't too sure if this was too expensive for this one.
Thanks.
Kubo"

That's all I know about Shriners bikes, for now. I'll post pictures once I locate some...

M. Stoic

I just purchased a "Shriners" Dream! It is a White 1965 CA77 with 2,279 miles on it. It is in almost new shape with very little pitting or other issues (only needed new tires for the safety check). It doesn't have a siren but the horn is very loud. It did come with a windshield mounted to the handlebars but no hardcases or flashing lights. I am in Ontario Canada. It was last licensed in 1978 and has been in storage since then.

Further to my comments above, I was wrong in assuming the bike was a CA77. In fact it is a C77 (serial number C77E-1001162). I had also assumed this is a 1965 bike (the ownership states this). Can anyone confirm the date?

I will forward photos to Michael Stoic in a day or two.

Greig Hutton

my '67 Shriner's CA77 Dream

Post by oldbikedude » Thu Feb 16, 2012 8:25 pm

Hi guys, I have a '67 Shriner's CA77 Dream. Red with white pinstripes on the tank, fork, front fender, headlight bucket, side covers and the frame/rear fender. It was pinstriped up pretty clasy and has round Shriner metalicish stickers/logo/emblems centered on each side cover. This was my Dad's bike but he wasn't a Shriner. The fellow my Dad bought it from got it from a Shriner. It's mine now. I am restoring it back to original & bought two new side covers so I can at least still have the "Shriner" side covers to preserve a part of it's history. Here is a picture from the early 70's after my Dad bought it.
