wiring

Post by kenkah » Sun Aug 14, 2011 4:48 pm

Does anybody have a better wiring diagram then the one that has been floating around? I am having trouble with the lights on my bike. my taillight lights up but I have no brake light no headlight and no neutral light. the only other light working is the light on the speedometer. my horn works and my electric start works. I see that all the wires are color coded and everything looks right but I'm not sure what else to look for. Is there a fuse maybe that I'm overlooking? any ideas?

Not sure about a diagram. There is only one fuse on the system and if any of your electrical works at all then it is good. If you have a volt/ohm meter then you can test your brake light switch to see if there is elecrical continuity when you press the brake pedal. You can also test out your wiring to see if you have voltage going to the switch and headlight. Also see that your grounds are good.

Good luck,

Continuity tester

Check your wires with a continuity tester to see if they have juice when they are supposed to. Somebody (G-man ??) put together a color coded wiring diagram. Do a search for it. It is a big help.
