Pressed Steel Handlebars

Post by lewarcher » Sat May 07, 2011 9:27 pm

Does anyone know if the pressed steel handlebars of the earlier Dream models will fit on a 1965 CA77?

Welcome to The Forum; please edit-in your location, within your profile.

Kicking the ball off the spot here: mechanically-speaking, I think you'd need to replace the top yoke (top fork bridge on the triple-tree) as well. Obviously there's a substantial difference in the clutch, brake and throttle cables, too. The mirrors are also different, having a much longer mounting thread.

Hi,
I have a 62 model C72 with pressed steel bars, and I had to replace the original forks last year and replaced them with a set off a later year, so the mounting holes are the same. from there up you will need all of the older parts. The switches are different, lever pivots, mirrors, all of the control cables, - plus the pressed bars will have the winkers inset. These winkers use a different watt bulb to the later models. good luck if you go ahead.

That's a lovely looking C you have there; congratulations! I'd wager that those casings take some upkeep!!
