Post by terrorstate6 » Sat Nov 20, 2010 1:37 pm

I have what looks to be a stock yellow 63 305 dream I cant seem to find any repaint marks or underlying colors. The vin is CA77310827 It looks to be the same poppy yellow as the ct90s .If anyone can help me out that would be great.Dont know much about the early Hondas or if it was an option to have the bikes color specific back then if you wanted. Its in great condition with 4k miles.its on ebay right now if you want to check it out. Thanks again[/img]

Hi

Welcome to the Forum! As far as I know, the only regular colors were red, blue, black or white. Looking inside the rear shock covers is usually a way to find what the original color might have been.

Yes, welcome to The Forum; where nostalgia's just a thing of the past.....

Could it possibly have been a factory special? Definitely not a standard colour, AFAWK. Another place to look for a previous colour would be on the tank, under the chrome panel.

Info from experienced experts here tells us that Honda painted with no primer; the factory method was just to paint straight onto bare metal, and for very logical reasons. So, if you scratch and find primer then its probably a repaint and not factory.
