FRAME/ENGINE NUMBERS FOR THE CL72/77
There is a CL72 on eBay at this time and the seller claims it is a 1962. (270896468218) He shows 7 digit numbers and when I offered it is a 1965 he stated the HONDA MC ID GUIDE to support his offer. Well I looked at the 3 issues of the ID GUIDE and dern if I didn't see that the first numbers for the CL72 and CL77 are not correct in all of them. ??????? .......lm

Are those guides worth having? I've never looked at one so I don't know. I went to pick up some wheels for my 1963 CL72 yesterday and the guy had what looked to be a 1962 CL72 frame complete with alloy rear fender. The numbers started 21xxxx I think.
He thinks that the purchaser (eBay) may not come to pick it up so I have first refusal. Not sure what I would do with a 1962 frame but it looked so lonely..........

I have all 3 of them and at times they come in handy looking up numbering of the bikes.
After realizing that the books are incorrect with the CL72/77 numbers and knowing that HONDA didn't issue a WHITE/SILVER CB77 (were all white with no silver fenders/side covers) I suspect one would need to just use some but not all info as fact. ..........lm

He seems to be overly impressed that he (although he doesn't) has a Early issue bike even though it doesn't have a lot going for it even if he was correct.
Oh Well!!!??. ....lm

Thanks
