The swing arm bolt was very difficult to remove and I had to hammer it and at the same time kept turning the bolt, when it finally came out I noticed the bush in the frame had also moved, looking closely at the gap it appears threaded, I have since tried using grips to screw it back in but no luck yet, I may try a little heat next. Any experience of this?

Has nobody any experience of this?
I re-examined it today and maybe the bush is undercut to allow the bush shoulder to push right up to the frame tube, I have possibly seen the undercut as the start of a thread.

I would just use a piece of studding and pull it back in.

That's my plan now Graham, I was just concerned that it might be threaded still and that could cause me problems.

Threading that part sounds a bit sophisticated (and unnecessary) for Honda. If you apply steady force you are less likely to distort it than hammering back in. Apply a bit of heat and it should just go back in.

Done okay, used a long piece of threaded rod and it went back in easily, cold.
