CL77 - trying to ride / how do I adjust the idle?
sorry if this is a lame question - but do I adjust the idle with the two screws on sides the carbs? When I can get my bike started, I can't keep it running without constant feathering of the throttle. At the same time it backfires. If I leave it alone it dies out and then doesn't want to kick over again. Thanks for your assistance

99, As you see you have ywo idle screws per carb. The screw that goes straight in goes to the bottom of the slide to raise and lower for idle speed. The other screw, that angles in, is your mixture screw. Inital adjustment forthat is 1 1/8 turn out. If you have to change the mixture screw setting from the 1 1/8 turn a whole bunch then you have other problems too. You should start by getting a shop manual and reading up on repairs and adjustments. Good Luck, Kustommusic

As mentioned, best thing is a manual that tells how to do all this.
