At what number did they make the spline change?

The candy tanks and chrome fenders came long after the oval tail light. Early 67 production bikes had painted fenders and oval tail light. Mine is 9# past the spline change. I'm in Mobile not far from you.

But clearly in the VIN range of the bike refereed to in this topic which is why I brought it up.

Agreed painted fenders did have oval tail lights in '67 however the earliest '67 had the same tail lights Honda used from the '63 CL72's. See the attached parts bulletin dated 4/21/67.
