Good idea about dropping the oil pump, too - I'd never thought about that on one of these.....
Mind you, it's amazing what these engines will tolerate - I'm part-way through a rebuild on a Dream & the bottom end came to me with the barrels & head removd & had been sitting under a house for years - I originally stored it the same way, on a shelf.
When I finally pulled it down last week (thankfully I'd kept the old oil in it), it was great, despite spending maybe 10+ years open to moisture, dirt, etc. Let my engine man have a good look & he described it "as new". Makes me think that the 7400 miles on the speedo might be accurate......
