CB77 Frame
The frames are different. The CL has a down tube while the CB doesn't also forks are different along with many other parts. The CLE**********denotes a CL engine which doesn't have the electric starter and different kick start system from CB. Also I believe the cranks are different so one can't just put in a CL engine and an electric starter. Only the blocks are the same. JMHO

Re: What bike is it?
The bike is a 1964 Super Hawk and the engine case is a 1966 Scrambler. ...............lm

I assume you what you mean by down tube is the tube that comes down diagonally from the steering stem. That one goes all the way down below the motor into a skid plate. I was always told the bike was a 65 CL77. It looks like a scrambler. Are there any other numbers or information I could look for to help identify it for sure?

The numbers you supply are for the bikes/years I gave earlier. ............lm

You know, you can stick an engine with CL id. in a Super Hawk frame, put Cl pipes on it and anything else, but, as has been said here, it is not a CL. When you pull the engine out of a CL, you will see that you have a frame that goes all the way around the engine and the Super Hawk frame uses the engine as part of the frame (there is no frame tube coming down from the steering head, going down in front of the engine and under the engine.Bolphur wrote:I assume you what you mean by down tube is the tube that comes down diagonally from the steering stem.
