hello from Australia

Post by old mago » Wed Jul 25, 2018 1:33 am

hi all
ive just bought a Cb72...its been imported from Japan in 2017..speedo reads 10500 km,cables look original, hard ,cracked and in need of replacement Its the blue one but looks like the bike has its tank and front end repainted and the bars have been replaced as the wiring is outside the bars and looks untidy..the stand is in black. All the fasteners are original and unmolested So apart from the bars and the fasteners on the winkers everything looks OEM. The front rim has DID on the center hump and the rear has DID stamped on the side ,so i think the rear has been replaced, all be it with a later model cb77/cb72 rim as the nipples are untouched. The seat is in good nick but the padding needs replacing My plan is to do a service on the motor, iam halfway through it ...points,condensor,check timing , check valve clearence, replace O-rings, replace gearshift seal etc, then ride it for twelve months to work and back. Once sorted i will undertake a restoration as the tinware is in excellent shape and looks to be just a paint, polish and plate affair........my other bikes include...1970cb175,1964 G15 Matchless csr, 1982 FLH HD with 6000 original miles on it, 1980 Yamaha RX 125 which ive completed a ground up resto on, 2010 Hyosung GTR, 1979 Suzuki A100.Image

Welcome. Great looking bike. I believe black is the original color for the main stand.
