How can I figure out the year...?
Got this CB77 Superhawk, that was my late uncle's and I'm not sure what year it is
How can I find that out?
Is there a range for the VIN which could indicate production year?
Thanks,
Dee

Yes - after '65 they used the same sequence to the end of production without any year breaks. Your estimate sounds about right. If you look under the gas tank there will be a white tag on the wiring harness which gives the date the harness was made. That's a pretty reliable guide as to the year of manufacture.

ok...didn't see the engine but the frame number is CB77 10429xx... what would that be, your list does not show '66 or '67 which I suspect mine to be.

Case closed,
my Superhawk is a 1966 according to the wiring harness.
I will start another thread about bringing it back to life soon...just got to figure out how to post pic's!
Thanks all.
Derek.

I use flickr.
Put photos in an album and then select share (the curved arrow at the bottom of the screen)

When the box pops up select BB-code and choose a sensible size (I use 800 pixels)

Copy the highlighted text and paste into your post.
Voila....
