But I have just put my 1964 CB77 back together and now it will not fire, I belive I set the cam timing wrong here are some pics of how it looked when I set it up with the right hand piston at TDC, (I now belive it was not on the firing stroke).

I understand this should be at 12 0 clock.

The 0 is at top the camera is angled to the left.

So now I find with the right hand piston at TDC and both valves closed and T on rotor and the scrib mark on the end of the points cam is pointing down, and bike will not start.
Can I remove the cam cover with removing the top engine bolts and top rear bolts and swinging the engine forward and down or will I have to remove the total engine from the frame ?
EDIT GOT IT SORTED went over the ignition timing after some spinning of the starter and I mean a lot it fired and ran well, I need to setup the carbs and that's not my best point, I do suspect bad petrol for the starting will drain and put some new in this stuff they call petrol (gas) is not like it was. Tonight this old man can sleep well at last.
