Need turn signals to pass inspection

Post by GG » Tue Oct 26, 2010 2:33 pm

So, Costa Rica has no 'grandfather' clauses for old bikes. Everything street legal must have blinkers. I'm probably going to adapt some blinkers I can find here in the country - my question is this. Can I just use a regular 12v flasher to run the blinkers? Thanks!

Having just gone through this on my cl, I can tell you not to use an older type mechanical flasher can as they do not respond well to the erratic voltage spikes of these electrical systems. I used an electronic solid state flasher with three posts. One +, one neg or ground and one to the switch. You should be able to find one at any decent auto supply store. Good luck,,,,RW

Thanks Rustywrench! I'll make sure it's electronic. I don't think it will be hard to find.
