New to Forum AND New Pics

Post by masouras » Sun Nov 29, 2009 11:26 am

Just wanted to say hello! I am Luke and have a new to me '66 cb77. Runs and is road worthy but needs some work, so i will be asking for help. I do not think i will do a restoration or keep things stock, but it is too early to tell. I will post some pictures shortly.

The Pics:

Thanks for the welcome.

The first of many questions:

Were can I get a replacement glass for my Spedo/Tach. The One on my bike is broken.

Thanks,
Luke

PS: I added some images to my first post!

Hi Luke

That looks a nice tidy bike. I have a pair of scramblers that I'm restoring - a 250 and a 305 so I haven't ridden either yet. They should be ready in the spring.

For your glass, I'm not sure where you could actually get a glass other than getting a complete speedo on eBay. I just bought a junk one for $10. If you want just a glass, I could let you have one if you cannot find one. It is possible to prize off the chrome bezel if you take great care with successively larger screwdrivers. I am going to convert a CB72 speedo for use on my CB160 project so I have bought up a few damaged / broken speedos to work with.

I am in UK but travel to the US every month. Next trip is next Saturday.

Good luck!

Very nice, looks complete, worthy of a restore project. But I wouldn't be ashamed to ride it as-is. Welcome.
