CP77 Production Date?

Hello
A Newbie here. I've just realized the bike I purchased was a CP77 and not a CB. Going off of Bill Silver's book I believe the bike is a 1965 since the number is earlier on in the sequence. My serial numbers are:
CP77E 1000071
CP77 1000062

I am a little unsure though. I have the camshaft apart and have measured the spline which is 19mm which is the newer size. The date on the parts change bulletin in Silver's manual (pg63) is dated Aug of 1967. Does this mean that this engine is a '67? From what I can find in the forum there is a lot of consensus that the CP and CB engines are the same. Am I correct?

It's the 7 number format and these were used from 65-67 per the Bill Silver's book, but he doesn't mention the CP. I would think the CP series used it's own number sequence, so finding the exact year may be a challenge. Did you look at the tag on the wiring harness under the tank? This will have a year and may give you a clue to the year it was made.

I checked out the wiring harness. I don't know if it's original or not. But I need some help deciphering it. The tag is white and some numbers/letters are hard to read. There's three lines as follows:

B7248FD
? 9 ?
SU??TOM0

The question marks are letters/numbers that I can't read. I think the bottom line is actually:

SU14TOMO

CAn anyone date this bike with this info. Is this a factory harness?

?9? has one missing and the first was a 1 so you know the first two are 19??. ......lm

Thanks. I'm really enjoying the site and probably have spent about 20hrs in the last few days reading old posts, getting ideas. I've been inspired. I found an old post with a picture of a readable wiring harness. I can barely make out the last digit on mine. I believe it's a "7". I can just see part of an angled line. So, based on this and the fact that I have the smaller cam spline, I think I have a 1967 CP77.

I'm hoping to start posting my restore in the next week or so. Reading everyone else's posts has been interesting and enjoyable. I figure that since I don't know what I'm doing for the most part, if I'm uploading pictures someone will take pity on me and tell me what I'm doing wrong.....:)

Everyone likes pictures. It has been part of the fun for me to post pictures, and see and talk to others who are doing the same thing. I spent a lot of time reading all the posts. LM and others have been a great resource. My project would have come out much different if it were not for them.
