New Superhawk Rider...(finally)

Post by 68Cb77 » Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:27 pm

Well it took 11 months, but today I got the bike safetied and got the plates on it! It's beautiful here in Toronto today...17 celcius (63 degrees for you Americans), and sunny! Took her for her virgin ride. I never actually drove the bike after I bought it, and it's my first Superhawk. I have to say, this thing goes like hell!...I immediately noticed a little oil leak, and I came back and made a new gasket for the cam chain adjuster. The one with the gasket kit was for a different (narrower) one, so I used the old one, bad idea. This seems to have cured the problem. Still a couple of little issues to deal with over the winter, my shocks are pooched, (no dampening), but I'll do something later. For now I'll ride it with the BOUNCE!.....What a great bike....sure is an eye catcher. I'm going to take some good shots I'll put up later. Thanks again to Ed Moore, who answered the phone even on Sunday when I shouldn't have called, but was really up against it...and Davomoto and Vince, and Tim at Hondarestoration.com.....and the 2 cops I drove by today with the plates from my other bike on it to get it safetied!!!!!!!! What the hell, got to live a little<john>

Congrats John, you're right: there's nothing like that first feeling, and little in life left to do (except, perhaps, fly a Bell 47G 'Sioux'!) once you've ridden a 305 -- any derivative, really, but the CB is closest to my heart.

Looking forward to seeing some pics!
