Left Side Air Cleaner Case

Left Side Air Cleaner Case
I'm getting my frame ready to be painted and needed to bend out the tab that the ignition switch goes through. Mine was bent way back out of the way, because I assumed the ignition switch was incorrect for my bike, and wouldn't fit the hole. But as I try to get it all to fit, I'm wondering if the side case is correct. Did they all have the extra reinforcing donut on the cases. I can't seem to get a very good fit so the frame piece goes in the "donut" part of the case.

Someone has modified that cover. Probably to fit the previous switch. .......................lm
