She lives againThanks guys. I get a real kick out of working on these bikes. I bought my first one about 26 years ago. I've probably had 12-15 of them since. If you notice, the exhausts are the J.C. Whitney ones that ran about $50 or so per. This is the first time I've used other than the original mufflers and I am really pretty impressed with these things. No, their not original but they fit, work, and look pretty well in my opinion. The saddle on this one is one of the very early ones. It is slightly shorter front to back than the later "flat" models.
Of the engines sitting on the floor in one of those shots, one has been rebuilt and repainted. The other two are hanging out for the moment. One of them is free and the other is stuck solid right now. I just got the cylinders for my CL160 back from the machine shop. That's the one I'm putting together at the moment. I've been going through that little bike and marveling at all the crazy things the last owner did to it. Stripped threads, SAE bolts. It looked like someone let their kid take it apart and then they forgot how it all went back together.
I had a set of the JC Whitney Dunstall style pipes on a CB77, one of the 'sold' bikes on this website and I thought the chrome was great. They have a very nice bark too. Matt
Also into Alfa Romeo Giuliettas and Giulias! Looking for a Giulia Super. Yes, part number is: ZX014804P. I like them. The chrome seems pretty sturdy. Since they are brand new, I can't say how long they will last but they do look pretty good now. They hang a little lower than the originals but were very easy to mount. I did alter their brackets slightly but they really went on very easily. Dan
