Hey can anybody describe the thrust washer set-up behind the kickstart shaft? My uncle fabricated a new bushing for me out of oilyte bronze as the fiber composite one was worn out. Now I'm putting it back together and the illustration of this THRUST WASHER--in the honda parts catalog--looks thicker than the 2 washers I believe are meant to be used. The parts "exploded view" also shows 1 THRUST WASHER but lists 2. What to do?
Thanks

Re: My kickstarter rebuild
YES they are very thin.
Put one on the kick gear shaft with grease on both sides.
Grease the shaft and new bearing and insert the shaft into the bearing and put grease on the case side of the other washer and put it on the shaft followed by the "Circlip" keeper. ...............lm

Kickstarter
Thanks so much for the reply, I'm embarrassed to say I just figured out how to find a reply. Kinda new to forums. That's just the answer I was looking for. I hope the Oilite bushing works. I couldn't find the composite bushing anywhere.
Thanks again

Re: Kickstarter
The bushing was never sold as a separate part. The only way to get another was to press one out of another cover or buy anothe4r cover. ..................lm

Kickstarter Bushing
Here are some shots or the Kickstarter Bushing my uncle made. Can you think of any reason this material--oilite--may be wrong for this application?
