CB77 520 "O" ring conversion

Post by markstertt » Sun Feb 24, 2013 1:53 pm

I was wondering if there was a 520 chain/sprocket conversion available for an early '62 Superhawk? I'd like to run an "O" or X ring chain and it looks like I'd need a 520 for the width to fit up front. Sprocket Specialists was recommended to me but their site lists CB77 form 1966-'68, I'll have to call them to make sure but it's Daytona weekend so ...Mark

O.K., Sprocket Specialists has 520 conversion sprockets for '66-'68 CB77's. An alloy 32t. rear goes for $59.99 & a steel 15t. front for $24.99. I'm assuming there is an output shaft dimension change for '66 and up and the lady on the phone thought probably so. I can always turn down an old style steel C/S sprocket if need be but at this point may just clean up the stock sprockets so as to better gauge their condition and if good, just install a new quality chain and let it go...bigger fish to fry sort of thing...Mark

Just to finish my thoughts on the 520 conversion, I now know from help here on the forum that it's easy enough to do but I have since opened a couple boxes of spare parts and found new oem sprockets and chain so will take that route for now...thanks for those who helped me with 520 conversion info...Mark
