Newbie with 5 CB77 vin's and 1 CL77 vin

Hello, Newbie here,

I had a relative pass away earlier this year and his 2 sons, (2nd cousins to me), were not interested in these. There is no luck in finding any of the paperwork, or keys to anything. So, i am in need of some help with trying to find out what year these are to put on the bill of sale and to try and get them registered. I have 2 CB77 bikes and 3 CB77 Frame only and a CL77 Frame only. One one of the bikes i can see the white tag with a date of 1965, blue bike, and the red bike, no luck with locating a tag on a harness. Please tell me what years these vin numbers are??

1) CB77- 1038335 (blue bike)
motor: CB77E-1038379

2) CB77- 1030728 (red bike)
motor: CB77E-1031337


3) CB77 - 1022392 (frame only)

4) CB77 - 1038331 (frame only)

5) CB77 - 1025797 (frame only)

6) CL77 - 1025735(Scrambler Frame?)

Hello All,

After a good wash and futher inspection, I was able to locate the white labels on the harness to see the year, both bikes have 1965 on them. But i could use some help on finding out what years the frames fall into. Any info or point me in a direction to locate the years the frames are is greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly.

I've been compiling a Model-Year Database for the past two or (oops) three years. Aside from G-Man's extremely helpful scan, I have the following (broad) CB77 VIN data saved, all thanks to members who have been continuing to provide me with their own observations:

• CB77-1004539 to 1039003; all, on my list, have 1965 wiring harnesses

There is, out there, a known-to-be '65 registered (but '64 harnessed) bike with the VIN 1001184; it falls out of the '64 VIN list, so is '65 model year that got fitted with a leftover '64 harness.

There is VIN 1043961, the first in my database known to have a '66 harness. So the model year change from '65 to '66 is somewhere between 1039003 and 1043961.

Thank you e3steve for the welcome and the info. That does help big time when i have to order parts and try to get this registered with the New York State DMV. I will do the DMV thing first before getting parts.

Thank you G-Man for the jpeg with serial numbers.

I will be busy getting the paperwork lined up and be busy jumping hoops! My local DMV office has always been very helpful whenever i had to register anything, no problems.
Will keep you posted.
