ok so while i was testing everything out after finishing putting my 65 super hawk back together the rear brakes are not releasing they open up and stop the wheel but then the wheel doesnt turn until i pull up on the brake lever i put grease in the cable and anywhere else didnt help a whole lot so then i took the wheel back out sanded the drum pads checked the springs put grease on the cams all in all nothing has helped the still stick on has anyone had this problem or if you know what it could be please let me know thanks quinn

i noticed my breaks were sticking too, i just used a little penetrating oil on all of the contacting points (inside the hub) that move the pads.. worked for me...

i'm sure some one will have a better answer,

Are the pivots free in the brakeplate? Sometimes the shafts rust in the aluminum backplate.
