Complete N00b...checking out my first bike soon.
Hey all,
Just wanted to introduce myself. and ask a quick question!
Names Rob, I'm 25 and currently going through my "quarter-life crisis".
I'm looking for a first bike and I am on a budget (1k or less). I may have found a "64*" (no clue why its posted with a *) super hawk to look at this weekend but I was wondering if i might be biting off more then I can chew.
pic looks ok. sez its clean...but that's all I know right now I still have to get intouch with them but this is all happening with in the last few hours.
here's the kicker... I (like most of my generation) have very little mechanical aptitude but I want to learn...but i also just want to be able to ride this season!
Thanks for the time!

Poops,
Welcome to the forum! If the engine turns over, and all of the major parts are there, you should be able to get her going with some coaching from the forum members. The only way to learn, is to apply yourself, and get those hands dirty!

thanks for quick reply!
haha!
Thats all I needed was one quick reassurance (so thanks!) and phone call to the guy!
He said that it turns over but "he had a falling out with his mechanic" so he took the bike whilst it was being worked on. Said it wont run due to a bad carb boot or possibly a gasket.
also Im not the best at forum etiquette so if this is the wrong spot for this we can move it
