Motor number question

Post by rone » Sat Nov 21, 2009 12:29 am

I'm new to Hondas, but I've been bit by the CB77 bug. Here's my question: what does the E in my motor number mean (CB77E)? I've tried to research the answer here before posting this, but no luck. Thanks, Ron

Well I'm by far and expert, but I'd say the "E" would mean Engine. So the the #'s could be Identified as frame or engine. That just the reason I assumed it was there. Not necessarily the correct answer.
64' CB77
65' CB160

Goodysnap--I initially excluded that as a possibility because I've seen CB77 motor numbers without the E. But I think you're right and I was wrong. Someone else sent me a PM saying that the E was for engine, so I'm going with that. Thanks for your input. Ron
