65 CB77 Coils and Spark Plug Wires
65 CB77 Coils and Spark Plug WiresHere's a pic of my pretty rough coils, spark plug wires, and (I think) condenser. Connection caps on the coils completely rotted away. Spark plug wires look pretty iffy. My question is are the spark plug wires replaceable? I don't want to go yanking on them if they are not replaceable because I want to try to get it running with as much of the original setup as possible but one of the spark plug wires has a cut that goes into the insulation.
Re: 65 CB77 Coils and Spark Plug WiresThe plug wires are generic and still easy to find. I recently bought a length of copper (non-resistor) wire from my local wholesale and retail car parts supplier.
Assuming all is as it should be, you just need to unscrew the metal bits that fit onto the coils. There should be a rubber spacer underneath them. These are hard parts to find so even if they look rough you should keep and reuse them, assuming they are not too rough.
Re: 65 CB77 Coils and Spark Plug WiresThank you Tim. When the time comes I'm going to carefully separate the wire from the coil and not worry about creating a coil faux pas.
Re: 65 CB77 Coils and Spark Plug WiresIs there any place to find new coils and wires
Mine are terrible shape, wires are cut, scree ends to coil are bad shape and ends to spark plugs are separated. Can a person use different coils and spark plug wires Re: 65 CB77 Coils and Spark Plug WiresFound coils for our 305 CB77 with a company in California.
