Positive and negative post on coils

I cannot determine from the wiring diagram which wires go on the coils. Do the yellow and green wires, from the points, go on the positive or negative posts of the coils.? The diagram shows a black wire from the ignition switch goes to the coils and splits to each, but which side? Many thanks, CFL

CFL, I believe that the black wire will be your positive side. Get your multi tester on there and see if you have 12v, if not try your yellow lead.

Yes, black to positive terminals on the coils. Yellow (left) and Green (right) to condenser, then to points. Make sure the condenser is well grounded by its ground strap.

I have the 'official' wiring diagram - full-size and in colour! - but it does not show which side of the small coil connections the black and green (on my Dream) go to. Now I know how to tell properly, rather than just going with 'well this way works', thanks!

RD - Info above is for a CB77 with two separate coils. For your Dream, green goes to points and condenser, black to ignition 12V.
