Question about priming

Post by Sascha » Wed Dec 15, 2010 2:34 pm

Hey Guys,

So I have a few problems with starting the bike - ive talked to a few of ya! ;)
Given my new wiring, I am wondering how I can go about priming the bike without a "position 2" on the key? Can I wire to accomodate this?

Hi Sascha. I'm real curious why the need to prime, and what the starting problems are.

I agree. No need to prime it, use the choke and she should fire right up.

Shouldn't need to prime unless it has been a while since the bike has been started.
If so, you can pull choke lever up and kick it over with the ignition off a couple of times before you try to start it with fire.

How cold is it there?

Mine is very cold-blooded and will not start without full choke and no throttle.

What has changed since you last had it running?......motor rebuilt, points changed, carb disassembled, valves or timing adjusted ...etc?
