timing light not working sometimes

Post by dgraha » Sat Sep 12, 2009 9:26 pm

Hi
Could anybody please help I am setting up the electronic ignition , the 2 timing lights I have tried are not work very well when the pick up is attached to the plug wires. Works once every 10 fires at idle when it revs higher no strobe affect. Can any body point me in the right direction Thanks

You might try to hook up the light to another vehicle to see if the problem is the light or the bike. Make sure you use a fully charged battery preferably not the bikes. I personally have a light that has troubles where the cord plug into the light and the advance knob area. Guess I dont use it often enough to get a new one. I dust it off occasionally .
