This orphan screw turned up in baggie with points plate and screws to hold it to head. Obviously holds something to something somewhere, with its oversized flat washer and small lockwasher, but what and where? Any help?
Thanks, Lee

that's not it
Screw in question is smaller diameter, slightly longer than plate mounting screws. I guess it's possible it could have come from some where else entirely on bike. Thanks for your help, sir, care to try again? -- Lee

nope
Good guess but mystery bolt is bigger/longer. I surmise that the screw for fork lock cover is same as tiny ones that hold on tank badges, based on recent ebay offering of five screws, four for badges, one for cover. If it's still up:

At any rate, my ol' bike hasn't had a fork lock or cover since maybe 1970. Thanks for support, though. I guess I'll just keep putting things back together and maybe where it goes will become obvious.
Thanks, more speculation certainly welcome. --Lee
