engine timing

what is needed and how to time my 68 305 dream. I have a manual that tells me specs to do this .but I don't know the right way to go about it.replaced points and plugs seems a bit better but still looses power under a load. have to keep her wound a bit to make her go.also idles a bit rough, seems choppy when you try to hold a steady speed.runs great if your winding her up.thanks for any help

found a timming light and set points guess it wasn't so hard after all
