ignition switch tool

Post by robert blakesley » Thu May 09, 2013 12:56 pm

I need to take the ignition switch off my CB77 but I don't have the tool needed. I don't want to use channel locks because the will ruin the finish. Are there any suggestions? Robert

Use some 1/8" thick aluminum, and make a properly sized hook spanner (a smaller version of what you would adjust the spring preload on your rear shocks with). Engage the pin into one of the slots on the retaining ring, and loosen or tighten the ring without marring. Regards, Chase

Do a couple wraps of duct tape and use pliers.
