Slo, there are 2 gaskets, one above the strainer, and one below. Make sure you have both gaskets before proceeding, or else just re-assemble. You'll probably have to pry under the gasket , I use a single edge razor blade, and go around until you can remove strainer. Hope that helps!

thanks on the oil strainer tip.
But back to the carb issue, I am (once again) confused. Several other posts I have read say that turning the air screw(fuel screw?) OUT makes the mixture LEANER. Could it be that different models have different carbs? My bike is a single-carb 1967 CA77.

Slo, as a rule: If the screw is in front of the slide, it is a fuel screw, behind slide air screw. I'm not familiar with the dream carbs, only the CB/CL carbs.
