freeing a sticky speedometer
freeing a sticky speedometer
Could not get my speedometer needle to operate smooth and return to 0 under its own spring tension no matter which chemicals I used. Had a very tight spot from 20 to 60 mph. I rolled a hot soldering iron over the female brass bushing that is a close fit over the male brass bushing that supports it under the dial. This caused the female bushing to open up enough to let the gunk escape and the oil to get into the interior . The needle now works perfectly and returns to 0mph as designed.
