Rotating kick start lever
Rotating kick start lever
Not sure whats going on here but got my cb77 started and running but the kick start lever swings forward down below the foot peg ever time i start it.. I can manually pull back up but swings back down when i let go. Any help greatly appreciated. Kurt

Could be a problem with the roller bearings inside the gearbox.

The kickstart shaft runs through the gearbox countershaft and when the bearing goes it can drag the kickstart when the engine is running.

Could be a worn kicker shaft, in which case DO NOT ride the bike. I had the same thing happen when I would be riding in 2nd gear. I'd look down and see the kickstart lever moving forward and then all of a sudden go straight down on its own. If it is doing that, DO NOT ride the bike. You could do serious damage to your transmission.
