My cable works fine. But how can you replace the outside vinyl that is coming off?Mike

Try some gray heatshrink tubing.

I found some gray heat shrink on eBay but, it took a while. I have not ended up using it because LM is right that a new cable is probably a better way to go. Still, I have that gray heat shrink for that day when I can't find a new cable.
