Post by Richard305 » Thu Apr 30, 2015 3:19 pm

Recently acquired a CL77. Not sure of year of production. How do you determine year of bike? Yes I am a newby.

Hi The frame is CL77-1013XXX. Engine is CB77E 1007XXX. I know they don't match but wish I knew what year the engine is as well.

CL frame CB engine

OOH NO MR BILL tHAT MOTOR # is for a superhawk motor, it has an electricstarter motor on the front witch prevents it from fitting the scrambler frame. You can remove the starter motor but there are other issues. I say the frame is 1966

Yes I was guessing that the frame was a 66. And I knew the engine was a Superhawk engine. I was told it was a put together bike, but it was a gift. Any idea what year the engine is? Also no idea what the headlight/speedo is from but not a CL77, maybe not even a Honda. Barn fresh with lots of missing and incorrect parts. Still cool.
