As a newbie, I am learning about model numbers, engine sizes, etc.
Is there a source that would describe all the models and years and the differences? I have been to numerous websites and got quite a bit of info, but I still feel like I am only scratching the surface and missing something.

You may be making it more complicated than it is.
This site being primarily concerned with 305's the 3 models that utilized this engine are the CA77 (the Dream), the CB77 (the Superhawk) and the CL77 (the Scrambler).
Each of these had a little brother with a 250 engine: the CA72, CB72 and CL72.
Those are the basics.

Same Deal.....
I'm a Newbie as well & was trying to figure out the same thing, thanks for the info.
Another question, are all 305 engines the same? Can I swap parts?
Mine is a CA78 on the frame and CA77 on the engine.....what's the difference between a CA77 & CA78?????
I'll try to get all the dumb questions out of the way ASAP.
Thanks, Mark

Re: Same Deal.....
They are not. There are 180 degree 305 engines and 360 degree 305 engines, 305's with one carb and 305's with 2 carbs. I know the basics on the differences but someone else would be best to explain the detail.McIntire71 wrote: Another question, are all 305 engines the same? Can I swap parts?
