Hey Sarah. If you read the second post in this thread it explains where to look for the year. It's on a small white tag running along the wiring harness under the gas tank. You'll see a longer number with a letter at each end, then under that is the year, it doesn't say (year: 1967) or whatever year you have, it's just the number eg.(1967)

Thanks, I'll take a look when I pull the tank tonight. Its a little rusty on the inside, and I'm going to clean it up. Mostly I was concerned about ordering the correct year parts for this in the future. Do you know why some of these bikes have the turned up front on the seats? I notice most of them do not have this. Or the chrome fenders. think I got an oddity!

Hi Sarah
Your numbers are later than Ironsights so yours will be '67 also. They stopped making them in '67 but many were sold after that. Your numbers are close which means that they are the original engine and frame. They rarely match.
The 'lip-up' seat is just the later seat. Maybe it was a safety feature as the back of the tank is quite steep. Later bikes had the seat level with the back of the tank and this was supposed to avoid nasty injuries under heavy deceleration.
How about some pictures? A SuperHawk with 5k miles is quite something.

Thanks for the info. I found the little tag under the tank and it says 1966, but its probably a 1967 model.
The seat needs to be recovered, but I will retain that feature. I have heard of some guys complain about the hump in tank. (not something I worry about tho, LOL)
Its a low mile bike, but he kept it outside for a few years. It has some pitting on the chrome, but not bad, I will post some picts of it soon. Cant wait to get it running, I love the sound of those twins! My everyday bike is a Kawi ER6n, also a twin, and sounds amazingly like the Honda.
And I cant wait to see the boys mouth hit the deck when I pull up with this at "Bike Nite"!
Thanks for the help guys!

Sarah,
The last issue CB77s came with chrome fenders. If the sidecovers were chrome, it was done after the bike was purchased, not by Honda. The lip up seat and later guages, also should have an oval shaped tailight, all indicative of a 67 model. Yes, you will blow them away at bike night!
