G-Man ,,,you ground off the old butchered sections, then built up some new welded on "meat" ...and then took it down (milled? turned?) to original spec... That is some serious craftsmanship !!!

...and you documented all the steps and posted the photos! Incredible...!

Today's effort was rebuilding this crankshaft...

GMan... I wish there were no pond between the US and the UK. I would be over your shop to hold the lamp and sweep the floor, just to see you do this!
