may be one of the dumber questions here.
but trying to source a replacement right side engine cover for my cb77 is proving to be very difficult and even more expensive,
thought about using one from a ca or cl. (much more plentiful and cheaper too)
if i were to forego using the kickstarter would it work?
has anyone tried this before?
ca/cl right engine cover on a cb77?

CL side cover
I just bought a CL side cover with the same thing in mind. Gentleman I bought it from was of the opinion it could be done, and would work, with a couple of caveats.
The kickstart lever rotates backward, and will not clear the footpeg, and that must be remedied ( I plan on using a folding peg, like one of the passenger pegs). Also, the clutch cable guide cutout in the top of the cover is in a different place, and at a different angle, and the cover must be modified to provide the correct pull on the clutch lifter.
These statements are from the gentleman I purchased the cover from: not from me, I do not have any direct experience with this one yet. (disclaimer)
I do believe that Hill Hudson has done something along these lines. Maybe he will chime in here.
Keep us posted.
