Speedo mystery

Hi Guys. This one has me beat. I have just returned one of our CB72's to roadworthy condition and discovered the speedo (old type opposite working needles) wouldnt work. It's been layed up since 1978. On close inspection the speedo will work correctly when I turn the cable opposite way to the speedo drive. (this drive was bought on ebay because I couldnt find the original) Are there 2 types of drive ? Can the drive be re-assembled to work in reverse ? Thanks. Albert
