How do I reinstall the rotor
How do I reinstall the rotor
I just repaired the starter clutch behind the rotor. However I cannot get the rotor back on and over the hub. Any tips? I've lined up the key and the slot, I am pushing in as I tap the starter button. But apparantly I can't get the rollers over the cranckshaft hub so it won't seat all the way. Thanks so much.

I think the problem is hitting the starter button, I think it is throwing the rollers outward when you do and that won't help line it up. When I reinstall mine I put a very light spot of grease on the key (more than a spot and you will have grease all over the stator once you start it) and just push it in. When I get it all lined up and with maybe a very light tap or two you should be able to install the bolt and when you tighten the bolt and tap the wrench a couple of times your done.
I now install a lock washer between the nut and the washer because I had one work out once and you can guess what that did to the stator cover. Hope this helps.

1. You should remove the stator as well as the rotor in order to facilitate easy refitting
2. Press the clutch rollers right back into the 3 caves, trying not to jar the rotor when placing over the shaft
2. Remove the starter sprocket cover also, and then back-spin the starter sprocket by hand whilst pushing the rotor home along the keyway.
