67 305 dream--- bolt under the clutch slot adjuster

how to put in the lock bolt under the clutch slot adjuster? I have tried and it is not threading on to anything. Any thoughts. Also how does the kick starter crank come off?

1 Ya will need to remove the cover and place the part back where the bolt will contact it.
2 Remove the cover. .......................lm

The kick starter will come off with the cover unless you just want to take the crank off,then pull the pin. When you have the cover off don't lose the ball bearing that goes behind the release rod.
