just took apart the clutch on my 1964 cb72 and it has 6 fiber disks and 6 steel And it has the 3 wire "retainers" ? does this sound right? and do i need the wire retainers?

This was a short limited issue clutch. It wasn't able to handle the temps that it ran at for long and would start to slip after only a few miles of usage. Around 1966 HONDA revised the parts and called it a Cush Drive assembly. That clutch uses totally different parts than the Cush Drive. I machine the Cush Drive outer basket and pressure plate and blast all disc and have found the clutch is much imprtoved. ...............lm
