Kickstart conversion

What would be the mechanical difficulties in converting a 305 scrambler kickstart to kick forward like a super hawk ?
I have a project scrambler conversion to a "cafe" style set-up with rear sets conflicting with the throw of the kickstart lever, I realize it's a bit late in the project though the answer could help another member down the road.
I had a machine shop alter the kickstart lever to clear the rear-set, it's going to be a little awkward for sure.

I haven't looked at the two covers for comparison lately but the engines are basically the same. All you need is a complete CB72 or CB77 right side cover with all of the kickstart mechanism installed. You'll need a CB kickstart also.

The area of difficulty may be the rear end of the cover as it meets the swing arm spindle and chain guard. As yours is essentially a custom bike that shouldn't be a problem.

The CB parts will be expensive as they used to crack around the kickstart bush and are in short supply.

The problem is I don't know of a kick starter arm or a kick starter joint which folds back rather than forward. ...............lm

Looking at each bike the kick start pawl location is different, the Super Hawk pawl is below the clutch adjuster while the Scrambler is rear of the clutch adjuster so even with the Super Hawk kick start lever on the Scrambler it will come in contact with the generator cover cover.
I had to look at a picture of each bike to understand why it won't work.

No doubt something can be done but to make the parts it requires would take a real effort.
