Has anyone out there ever tried a 28 tooth rear sprocket on their SuperHawk? If so, how did it affect the power/revs/speed etc?
Due to my geographic location, I have a hard time avoiding highway situations, and was thinking of going down to a 28 (I have a 30 on there now) to help with the top end. However, how much would I lose at the other end of the spectrum?
Thanks!
Rear Sprocket...

Vince, I had a 28t on my original CB in the '70s; it was very long-legged -- 1st:40, 2nd:80, 3rd:100, 4th:95! The motor was alleged to be 'works', i.e. played with. Polished ports, oil filter removed to 'save' BHP, lightened & balanced bottom end. It would rev to an indicated 12k through the gears, though. I broke 2 drive chains and hooked a pair of sprockets in the few months that I tortured it; no mechanical sympathy, I'm afraid. Not so these days!
