1966 CB77
I am restoring my CB77 (very slow process), I finally got the fork covers unscrewed from the lower (painted) fork part. I am now trying to remove the chromed slider from the lower but do not know how. Newer bikes have an allen bolt at the very bottom of the fork and upon removal the slider pulls right out. What am I missing. By the way the forks are the steel lowers (painted), not the alloy ones. Thanks

Trying to remove Chrome Fork covers from lower sliders 64
Sorry this is my first post, got on here because I am restoring/repairing a 64 CB77 for a friend, it's a set of Type 2 forks, and I cannot get the chrome covers off the bottom fork sliders.
Do they thread in somehow? I found a picture of the same type of slider in this Ebay auction:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/230798577536?ss ... 1438.l2649
Don't see any threads on the top, unless they are somehow inside...
Just broke a big rubber strap wrench on this, have tried all sorts of things...
These are not the type with the holes in them, this is a later year.
I can post a picture if needed.
Mike
